This small creek scene is deceiving in it’s simplicity and the water was one of the most difficult water subjects I have ever painted. The complexity of having 3 levels to capture the appearance of, the sky reflections, the tree reflections and also the transparent shallow water that the rock bottom can be seen through and was quiet a challenge, but I was pleased with the results and feel it is one of my finest paintings.
